French Almond Cake

A lovely sweet treat that's a cross between a cake and a cookie!

Bahan-bahan

  • 1½ cups granulated white sugar
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs, (at room temperature)
  • ¾ cup unsalted butter, (melted and cooled slightly)
  • 1½ teaspoons almond extract
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1½ cups all purpose flour
  • ¾ cup sliced almonds
  • ¼ cup apricot jam

Langkah-langkah

  1. Preheat the oven to 350℉. Spray a 9-inch round baking pan with baking spray (nonstick spray with flour).

  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the sugar, salt, eggs, butter, almond extract and vanilla. Add the flour, and stir with a wooden spoon until just blended.

  3. Spread the batter evenly in the prepared pan. Sprinkle with almonds.

  4. Bake in a preheated oven for 35 to 40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs attached. Let cool in the pan on a wire rack for 15 minutes. Run a knife around the edge of the pan, then invert the cake onto the rack. Spread the warm cake with apricot jam. Let cool completely.
