  • 1 cup butter
  • ½ cup light corn syrup
  • 2 cups brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 ½ cups pecans (or peanuts, optional)
