Bahan-bahan

6 porsi
  • 6 tablespoons (¾ stick) salted butter
  • ½ cup finely diced yellow onion
  • ½ cup all purpose flour
  • 3 cups low-sodium chicken broth
  • 2 cups cooked wild rice ((**make ahead))
  • ½ cup finely diced ham
  • ½ cup finely shredded carrot
  • 3 ounces sliced mushrooms
  • ⅓ cup finely sliced celery
  • 3 tablespoons slivered almonds
  • salt and pepper, (to taste)
  • 1 cup half and half
  • 3 tablespoons dry sherry or white wine
  • fresh parsley or chopped chives, (for garnish)

Langkah-langkah

  1. Melt the butter in large saucepan or skillet. Add the onion and sauté until softened, and then whisk in the flour. Gradually whisk in the broth. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until it comes to a boil. Boil and stir 1 minute. Stir in the rice, ham, carrots, mushrooms, celery, almonds, salt, and pepper.

  2. Simmer until all of the ingredients are tender. Whisk in the half & half and sherry or wine. Heat to desired serving temperature and serve with garnish.
