- 1 cup granulated white sugar
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, (at room temperature)
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1½ cups finely chopped, peeled apple
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar

Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F. Grease and flour a 5x9-inch loaf pan.
In a large bowl, use an electric mixer to combine the sugar, butter until light and fluffy. Add the eggs, sour cream and vanilla and mix to combine.
In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt and cloves.
Mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients.
In a medium bowl, toss the apples with the vinegar. Stir the apples into the batter.
Scrape the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 50 to 55 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean. Remove from the pan and cool on a wire rack.
