Parmesan Crab Bites
This simple-to-make appetizer served on bread slices is perfect comfort food, without all the fat.

- 1 tablespoon melted butter
- 1 tablespoon all purpose flour
- ½ cup milk
- 1 tablespoon dry white wine
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- 1 cup flaked crab meat ((fresh will be better than canned, but you can use either))
- 16 slices French bread ((baguette size is good))
- ½ cup shredded, fresh Parmesan

Preheat your oven to broil.
In a medium saucepan, heat the butter and milk over low heat until thick. Add the wine, salt and crab meat and stir until mixed; remove from heat.
Spread the mixture on the bread slices. Place on a baking sheet and sprinkle with cheese; broil until the cheese melts. Serve immediately.
